Google新版手機定位軟體 無須GPS也能找方向

Google今天發表升級版線上定位軟體，這種軟體可根據手機使用的基地台，找出手機所在位置的周邊概況。
新版「Google地圖」手機軟體的測試版，讓手機使用者可選擇觀看所在地的衛星空照圖、找地方、找鄰近商家等。
Google的新追蹤功能與其他導航器材不同的是，使用者無須鍵入地址或座標，螢幕就會顯示電話的位置。
Google手機團隊工程師朱麥可（譯音）在這家美國網路搜尋巨擘的網站上撰文說：「面對現實吧：用鍵盤輸東西到電話裡，實在太2006了。」
「一些人幸運地擁有內建GPS （全球衛星導航系統）的手機，提供位置資訊......但我們多數人沒有。」
這種翻新的定位軟體，讓手機連結上網，模擬GPS使用軌道衛星追蹤的功能。
免費的「Google地圖」2.0 版，附加「我的位置」功能，可判定手機使用哪座基地台，顯示此區地圖，並以藍色圓圈圈出位置。
法新社針對這項服務的測試顯示，地圖上指出手機位置一公里內的地點，並提供空照圖。
